About Sri Trayee Vidya Gurukulam

Our Journey

Our ancestors have been cherishing the Vedas and imparting them to their disciples for lakhs of years without the aid of any modern gadgets or technology, even palm leaves. They kept the tradition of the Vedas alive and vibrant by training their astute memory and by piously chanting them flawlessly and passing them to the succeeding generations without any interruption. That is why the Vedas are known as Shruti.

With the great efforts put in by Nitya Agnihotri Somayaji Vajapeyaji Sirugamani Sri Padmanabha Acharya who had been blessed by the benign grace of Sri Hari Vayu Gurugalu – Sri Jaya Teertha, Sri Vyasaraja Teertha, Sri Raghavendra Teertha, Sri Raghoottama Teertha, and other peetadhipatis and acharyas the Vedas began to sprout again.

Pujya Sri Padmanabha Acharya was an eminent scholar in the Vedas and Dwaita philoshopy who taught the Vedas to his three children and more than 70 students in a very difficult time and nurtured this Vedic dharma to reach dazzling heights.

We had the privilege of learning the Vedas from his second son Sirugamani Nitya Agnihotri Pujya Shri Swargiya Parashuramacharya.

Our Guruji Sirugamani Nitya Agnihotri Pujya Shri Swargiya Parashuramacharya was very kind like a mother – he would live many days in the cowshed when a calf was to be delivered. After enduring the many hardships of a cow’s labour and delivering the calf amid mosquito bites and insect infestations without sleep, he would continue to be kind to others.

He addressed and treated all people with respect, whether it was someone close to him or a vegetable vendor. Our Guruji set many examples for us, showing grace and tolerance of the highest order.

Exemplary Honesty

Whenever wellwishers donated money to his Gurukulam for a particular cause, he would use the funds strictly as per their desire. He moulded our thoughts from our young age when we were taught the Vedas by him. He instilled in us the lofty ideals of humanity and love for all. He emphasised the need to follow the principles of righteousness and justice and made us Vedic scholars.

The welfare of the world will come only through Veda Shastra Rakshana. Our Guruji made us feel that it is our primary duty to earnestly learn and protect the Vedas and Shastras. He used to say, “If you could create a new generation who are well versed in the Vedas and Shastras, that would be your greatest Guru Dakshina to me.”

By the divine Blessings of Sri Hari Vayu Gurugalu and by the blessings of our Guruji we established the first Sri Trayee Vidya Gurukulam in Srirangam, inaugurated by our Guruji himself, on 22/04/2009.

Our second branch was inaugurated in Chennai on 10/06/2012 by His Holiness Sri Sri 1008 Vidyesha Teertha Swamiji of Sri Bhandarakeri Matha.

Our third branch was inaugurated in Srirangapatna on 03/05/2024 by His Holiness Sri Sri 1008 Sri VidyaShreesha Teertha Swamiji of Sosale Sri Vyasaraja Matha and His Holiness Sri Sri 1008 Sri VishwaVallabha Teertha Swamiji of Sode Sri Vadiraja Matha.

Over 100 students are studying Veda and Shastras in Srirangapatna, Chennai, and Srirangam. Over 20 teachers comprising Rigveda Ghanapatis, Yajur Veda Ghanapatis, Sudha Pandits, NyayaVidwans, Vyakarana Pandits, Mimamsa Vidwans and school teachers are serving in these branches.

We teach Ghanapata, Nyaya, Vyakarana, Mimamsa Shastra, and Dwaita Vedanta. We also include a general school education for our vidyarthis.

Reciting the Vedas by heart (Kantastha) is a tough task. However by Grace of the Almighty God we have produced more than 50 Vedic scholars who can recite the entire extant Vedas. We are trying to bring up all our vidyarthis with the highest virtues as emphasised by Guruji Pujya Sri Sirugamani Parashuramacharya.

Most importantly, we also hope to provide lifelong financial support to our students after completing their studies in this Gurukulam. Thus, they can teach both Shastra and Vedas, while leading a peaceful and dignified life.

Our graduates serve as teachers at our Gurukulam as well as in other institutions like Sode’s Bhavi Sameera Gurukulam, Bengaluru’s Poorna Pragnya Vidyapeeta, and Palimaru’s Sri Yoga Deepika Gurukulam.

Sri Trayee Vidya Gurukulam has been doing well since 2009 by the blessings of Vedas, Shastras and our Gurus, and we are filled with hope for the future.
